MODE GUIDE
Hardcore Mode
The deep end of Perfect 20: a 44-pick draft, a play-by-play season, and injuries that make every backup pick matter.
The Full Draft
Hardcore replaces the unit-based defense with the real thing: you draft every defender individually — the front, the linebackers, the secondary — plus backups across the roster. Forty-four picks in all. Depth stops being a stat line and becomes a decision you made (or didn't).
Play-by-Play Seasons
Hardcore runs on its own engine — separate from the instant simulation the classic modes use (the two engines, compared). Games aren't just decided — they're played. The engine simulates drives and key plays, so a week's story might turn on a fourth-quarter stop or a busted coverage. Each week you get the game's story: scoring, key plays, and who swung it.
Injuries & the Highlight Reel
Players can go down, and when your starter does, the backup you drafted at pick 41 is suddenly the season. Big runs produce a highlight reel — the plays that defined your year. Hardcore results feed their own ⚡ leaderboard segment (see the leaderboard rules).
Should You Start Here?
No — play a few Normal runs first. Come to Hardcore when 20-0 stops feeling impossible and starts feeling slow.
